Agnes Monica: I'm Young but I'm Right (Part 1)

The First Spotlight...

 

Agnes Monica Muljoto, or as we have known; Agnes Monica, has started her career in entertainment world as a singer in her six years old. “Si Meong”, was her very first (kid) album, and then followed by “Yess!” and “Bala-Bala”. She also made herself as a presenter for Tralala – Trilili with Indra Bekti as her partner on RCTI, and Video Anak Anteve (VAN) on ANTV. She got Panasonic Awards 1999 and 2000 for “Pembawa Acara Anak-Anak Favorit” (Favorite Kid Presenter).

 

Another Miles Away to Go...

 

The woman who was born in Jakarta, on July 1, 1986, was not stopping right there. She continued her journey as an actress for several sinetron (soap operas) and she gained a big fame when she played a role as a main actress in “Pernikahan Dini” with Sahrul Gunawan, on RCTI. She also sang the theme songs for it; they were “Pernikahan Dini” and “Seputih Hati”. Finally, Indonesia could hear her voice for one more time in her teenage age and she extended her existence as an actress while she was a teenager.

 

And the Story Goes...

Nez (Agnes Monica’s nickname), finally produced her first (mature) album and named it “And the Story Goes...” with “Bilang Saja” as her first single. She has spent for 1, 5 years to produce this album and she was the first singer with her own dancers called; “NezindaHood”. Many international singers have inspired her to be a high class singer, such as; Britney Spears, Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera. She also featured Michael Jackson’s style in her next single “Indah”. Agnes was the first singer who offered dance while singing and the people started to compare her with Janette Jackson and Madonna. Indonesian has announced her as the Britney Spears of Indonesia, but Agnes didn’t really have to care about it, because she always focuses on her track.

 

When Dreaming is a Sin...

The woman, who likes black, has ever told Indonesia that she wanted to go international, when she was 17 years old. From there, Medias overexposed her words and people started to judge her as an arrogant and innocent girl. However, she always on her principle to be the best artist and make her dream comes true. Many haters were about to create and they always mock her dream and not just her dream, but also her performance. They never stop to compare Agnes’ performance with international divas. But from life and it must be made her stronger. In 2011, At America invited Agnes to give a speech about her principle. She talked a lot about her journey and it all happened based on her principle; “Dream, Believe and Make it Happen”.

 

We are Here, Nez...

 

“No matter how good we are, haters gonna hate. So, don’t be good but be the best!” @agnezmo

Agnes always says that whenever Medias ask her opinion about her haters. But there must be a lover/supporter beside her and they named themself as NezindaClub (NIC). Started from Yahoo! Group or mailing list with several numbers of fans in 2005, and they always love to watch her performances and shouted to send their love to their idol. Agnes and her management (Agnes Monica ENT) realized about their existence and made NezindaClub as the official name for her fans and brought some of them to be the part of Agnes’ management to take care of Agnes’ fans. She loves to say thanks for NIC or her fans, because she knows that she can stand until now, it’s all because of her fans.
