Whaddup A!?
Agnes has produced her
second album titled “Whaddup A?!” in the end of 2006. It was a transition from
a teenage girl to be a young woman. In this album she did collaboration with
international singer from US, Keith Martin for “I’ll Light a Candle”. We could
say that this was her most successful album, and her voice got more mature and
stronger. “Tak Ada Logika” was the most hit single and we used to see her
signature moves (stomping right foot), and the song was featured for her
sinetron; “Kawin Muda”. She also answered Medias’ challenge to wear traditional
costume (kebaya) in “Tanpa Kekasihku”. In this era, Agnes has done her first
concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She sang from “Pernikahan Dini” era until
“Whaddup A!?” era. Even though the concert was not successful enough because
the date of it was the hectic day for Malaysian students but the number of
watchers were good. Haters said that Malaysian better watch Britney Spears than
Agnes Monica, even Agnes has done her very best for her Malaysian fans. Agnes
also featured as the opening for Boyz 2 Men, where there was a rumor that she
was going to do collaboration with them but it’s canceled.
Walk Around Asia...
The daughter of Ricky
Muljoto and Jenny Siswono has introduced herself in Asia. She played a role for
“Romance in the White House” with Peter Ho and “The Hospital” with Jerry Yan.
She also did a duet with Jerry Yan when he visited Jakarta. Agnes spoke
Mandarin fluently and as always, her acting was great. In 2007, Agnes performed
for Asian Idol and sang “Get Up”. Korea Foundation for International Culture
Exchange also invited her to perform in Seoul for Asia Song Festival 2008 and
2009, as the Best Asian Artist and The Best Performance. The crowd was so
satisfied with her performance and asked her to perform again (in 2009). ASF
has been watched over 35,000 audiences and aired in 30 countries. She also
performed for Festival of Life, an event to remember 50 years of diplomatic
relationship between Indonesia and Japan. Besides, Drugs Enforcement
Administration (DEA) and IDEC Far East Region stated her to be the Anti-Drugs
Ambassador for Asia, and MTV stated her as MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and
Trafficking) for Asia. She has proved to Asia that besides she is a great
artist, she also has a healthy way to live. Agnes also as the face of Olay for
Asia and has been participated as Asian Young Leader with Dian Sastrowardoyo.
This dog’s lover has been interviewed with Nicholas Saputra for AMP around Asia
in Channel V and watched by many people throughout Asia. Agnes has participated
in South East Asia Games 2011 (SEA Games) to sing the theme song in the opening
ceremony; “Together We Will Shine”, with Jacklyn Victor (Malaysian singer) and
KC Conception (Philippines singer), and sang “Kita Bisa (Wa E Wa E O)” with
Nidji and Afgan, also “Shake it Off” from Sacredly Agnezious for the closing
ceremony. Agnes won seven categories in Japan International Music Awards 2011
(JIMA).
The Sun Will Always Shine...
It’s been a long time
since “Dan Tak Mungkin” as her latest single from “Whaddup A!?”, and finally,
Agnes gave a surprise for her fans about her new single titled “Matahariku”.
This song was featured for her brand new sinetron; “Jelita” with Dirly Idol and
Nino Fernandez. Her MV (Matahariku) has been the most watched, for about five
millions time on YouTube. After Agnes released Matahariku, she released another
single; “Godai Aku Lagi” where the rumor said that Agnes made and compose this
song when she was in US to study about music. Another upbeat song and we could
watch Agnes and NezindaHood for one more time. The MV itself, featuring
Indonesian actor, Richard Kevin. This song also as the theme song for her next
sinetron (after Jelita) titled; “Kawin Massal”. She sang those songs for the
first time in RCTI’s anniversary. To reduce the piracy, Agnes produced a mini
album named “NEZ”. It contained 2 songs (“Godai Aku Lagi” and “Matahariku”)
with some of her exclusive photos and the price was only IDR 15.000,-. The enthusiasms
to wait for a new album from fans were so great. Agnes has offered something
short one and there was an accident when she cut her hair for one more time, so
her hair was getting shorter.
Sacredly Agnezious
After “Matahariku” and
“Godai Aku Lagi”, this fans of Fantasia (winner of American Idol 3) released
another single; “Teruskanlah” and as the opening to launch her third album;
“Sacredly Agnezious”. She said that this album was proved of her hard work, because she was
the producer for her third album. She wrote several songs for this album, such
as; “Godai Aku Lagi”, “Coz I Love You”, “Shake it Off”, etc. Agnes claimed that this
album is the truth of her and that’s why she named it “Sacredly Agnezious”.
Agnes must be proud of herself because from this album, she got many
achievements and one of them is Album Terbaik-Terbaik (Best of the Best Album)
in Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) 2010. Agnes has shown her martial arts skill
through her latest MV for “Sacredly Agnezious”, titled; “Janji-Janji” featuring
Indonesian heartthrob, Yama Carlos. The process itself was quite dangerous and
Agnes got a serious injury to her ankle and it’s broken. On the other hand, the
only sister of Steve Muljoto had to perform perfectly in Asia Song Festival
2009 with that condition and she has done her very best to entertain South
Korea.

It was very big news,
when Agnes decided to join Indonesian Idol 2010 as one of the judges with Erwin
Gutawa and Anang Hermansyah. She said that she didn’t want to be a judge but
she wanted to be a friend for the contestants, so she could share her
experience in music industry to them. She didn’t want to make herself as the
same one with a twitter user, who can judge without any knowledge and without
attitude. The show itself became the most watched TV program in Indonesia.
Agnes performed for the very first time in Indonesian Idol on the premiere of
spectacular night with “Godai Aku Lagi”. This best friend of Greysia Poli also
joined Indonesian Idol 2012 with two other judges; Ahmad Dhani and Anang
Hermansyah. Agnes always shares her experience to the contestants and forces them to elevate their performances
to make it as their best in every week, and from there, we can she her hard
work and consistency to be the best artist.
